Blanket Creek

The message “Have You Been Selected” was from Matthew 4:12-15. Jesus is selecting His disciples. He chose fishermen, but now they would become Fishers of Men. What has God selected for you to do for Him. Last week we were excited to have the McCandless family join our church by moving their membership. Welcome to the family Brent, Danielle and Shelby.

Please remember the families who lost loved ones this week. Shawna Higgins, Margaret Ellen Ritter and Diane English Hogue.

Greetings friends. Hope all is well with you.

Pastor Ron told us in his message on Sunday that God does not look at our outward appearance, He is concerned about what’s in our heart. Remember that when you get down on yourself, when you don’t think you look beautiful, just be beautiful on the inside. That’s what really counts.

Boys lock in and play practice on Friday night.

The Children will have their Christmas program on Sunday the 14. We all look forward to this every year.

The Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 5 p.m.

Come join us next Sunday at 11 a.m. We are a small family church and welcome you to be part of our family.

Our Sunday morning service was absolutely perfect. Ron Lambert married Mila that morning. Worship was beautiful. Pastor Nick Errico’s wedding message was just amazing.

Our pot luck meal went well afterward.

Sunday also was the lighting of the second advent candle on the wreath. We were honored to have Stacy Brownfield light this peace candle for us.

Bro. Mark’s message was from Luke 1:5-25.

Zacharias and Elizabeth were godly folks, careful to obey all of God’s laws.  They were up in age and did not have any children.  Zacharias worked in the temple. He was in the sanctuary when an angel appeared. I have come to tell you that God has heard your prayer and Elizabeth will bear a child. You shall name him John. He will be one of the Lord’s great men. He will persuade many a Jew to turn to the Lord. Even in advanced age the parent’s prayer was heard. John the Baptist was their son. Don’t give up on praying. Your prayers are being heard. Stay faithful!

Sunday school was at 10 a.m. and we missed you if you weren’t there. Worship started at 11 a.m., we had the lighting of the first Advent Candle - Hope, by Richard and Lisa Osterlind and grandson, Finley. The children’s message “That’s Not Fair,” from Matthew 20:1-16. “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.” v.16. God is always fair!

Presley Platt read John 1:14, 16-17, followed by special music, “Hope Has a Name.” Bro. Dale’s message was “Thankful For Grace,” from Ephesians 2:3-8. This scripture tells us that all have sinned but by the grace of God we can have the gift of salvation. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-“ v. 8

Our annual fellowship meal followed the church service, getting to know a little better, the people at our table.
