Vivian Carol Snodgrass, 96

Cold Spring — Vivian Carol Snodgrass, 96, of Cold Spring, formerly of Falmouth, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026, at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Care Center in Edgewood.

Born on December 18, 1929, at her Grandmother Thompson’s house in Pendleton County, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Anna Mary Thompson Snodgrass.  A trusted and talented clinical assistant, Vivian worked with the late Dr. William M. Townsend for over 20 years, caring for the people of Pendleton County in untold ways. Together this dynamic duo created a revered medical practice, known for a practical approach and compassion. They made a difference in so many lives.  After Dr. Townsend closed his practice, Vivian joined Rankin & Rankin in Covington, from which she retired at the age of 62.

Loving to keep her life clean, neat, and orderly, Vivian approached all of her daily tasks and special interests with calculated precision. Whether she was cooking, especially her deviled eggs, creating quilts with her cross-stitch, planting and tending to her flowers at her home on Barkley Street, or working crossword puzzles, she had a time and place for everything.  Vivian was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cold Spring.  She was a gift to all of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles Walter “C.W.”  and Brenda Snodgrass; her brothers-in-law,  Gerald Benson, Charles D. “Buddy” Ammerman; and her nephew-in-law, Mike Whaley.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her two sisters, Faye Ammerman, of Falmouth, Wanda Benson, of Cold Spring; two nieces, Debbie Whaley, Carol (Dudley) Carr; five nephews, David (Gwyn) Ammerman, Kirk (Teresa) Benson, Mark Benson, Eric (Cathy) Benson, Dylan Snodgrass; several great nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.

Services were held Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth.

Interment took place at Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.
