Mason Hunter Pitzer, 25, of Burlington, KY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday March 26, 2024, at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center, after a courageous health battle over the past several months. He was born on March 2, 1999, to Tiffany Frazier (Mike Hutchison) and James (Robyn) Pitzer.

On June 16, 2001, at the age of 2, Mason escaped death after a non-fatal near drowning. However, it changed his life forever. He sustained brain damage from the lack of oxygen and was left unable to speak, walk or eat by mouth. During the past twenty-three years, Mason has been an inspiration to everyone that has had the opportunity to meet him. His big brown eyes “spoke” volumes when you interacted with him. Mason was always smiling and loved laughing with family. Quite often, he would work it up into hilarious belly laughter, which infected everyone around him! Despite his special needs, Tiffany made sure that Mason was not limited on all the wonderful things life has to offer. Mason went on vacations, attended birthday parties, sporting events, graduations, pool parties, family reunions down on the farm and was always at every family holiday gathering, giving his love to everyone. The family of Mason Pitzer would like to thank you for your countless acts of kindness you have shared with them over the course of Mason’s life.

Along with his parents, Mason is also survived by his sister Morgan Pitzer, brother Mitchell Hutchison, and stepsister Madyson Poynter; Maternal Grandparents Richard (Donna) Frazier, Maternal Step-Grandmother Victoria Hutchison, and Paternal Grandparents Paul (Patricia) Pitzer. He is also survived by a very loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mason was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandmother Mary Kay Frazier on May 6, 2021.

Visitation for Mason will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Independence, KY. This will be followed by a time of remembrance and prayers by Father Harry Settles preceding the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 3 p.m.
