Butler — Mary Lillian Griffith Turner, 80, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at her home.
She was born in Middletown, Ohio, on May 16, 1944, daughter of the late Alford and Rachel Arrowood Griffith.
Mary retired from teaching at Pendleton County Schools, then continued teaching at North College Hill in Ohio until she retired again. She was a member of Old Regular Baptist Church in Sebastians Branch, KY and attended Licking Valley Baptist Church, in Alexandria after moving north. She loved traveling, reading and quilting with her cousins.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her daughter, Susan Lynn Turner.
Surviving are her husband, Talbert Turner; sons, Talbert “T.J.” Turner Jr., William “Bill” (Theresa) Turner, David Turner; grandchildren, Trent (Payton Barnes), Trevor (Corinne), Rachel, Daxton Turner; and great-grandchild, Ellie Jo Turner.
Local services were held Sunday, March 16, 2025, directed by Licking Valley Baptist Church, at Peoples Funeral Home, in Butler.
Additional services were held Monday, March 17, 2025, at Macedonia Old Regular Baptist Church, in Sebastians Branch, KY. The funeral was officiated by Jesse Turner and Pat Turner, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home.
Burial took place at Griffith Cemetery, in Sebastians Branch.
