Falmouth — Mary Ann Wenzel, 80, of Falmouth, passed away May 13, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.
She was born November 17, 1944, in Richmond, Indiana, to Nuncio and Josephine Cringoli Nufrio; she moved to Falmouth in 1990 when she married her second husband, Donald, and lived with him on the 164-year-old Wenzel Family Farm.
She worked as a Financial Advisor and school bus monitor and was also a Lexington Humane Society member. Mary Ann was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton St. Mary’s Parish.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her first-husband, Marvin Pickett; niece, Paula Eckler; and cousin, Ron Nufrio.
Surviving her are her husband, of 35 years, Donald Wenzel; step-daughters, Darla Marie (Jon) Tonkin, Donna Michelle (Kevin) Hodge, both of Shallotte, NC; eight grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; sister, Francis Bryne, of Massachusetts; niece, Nancy Baker; cousins, Dan Nufrio, Mary L. Henson; aunts, Francis Marie Cobb, Gloria Denzler; and best friend, Elaine Norton.
Graveside services were Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Sengole Gnanaraj. Peoples Funeral Home assisted the family locally.
