Betty Lou Owen, 85

BATAVIA, OH — Betty Lou Owen, 85, of Batavia, OH, formerly of Alexandera, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026, at Hospice of Cincinnati East. 

She was born in Demossville, on November 21, 1940, the daughter of the late Bradford and Bonnetta Mullins Piner.

Betty dedicated 32 years of her life to serving as a teacher with Campbell County Schools, where she touched countless lives with her patience, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her students.

In addition to her years in education, Betty gave back to her community through her volunteer work at St. Elizabeth Hospital, offering comfort and compassion to those in need. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, caring heart, and the many lives she helped shape through both her work and service.

Betty’s legacy of love, dedication, and selflessness will live on in all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Owen III; brother, Bradford (Patsy) Piner; and sister, JoAnn (Bill) Shiveley.

Survivors include her sons, Kent (Jessica) Owen, Homer Owen IV; daughters, Ann (Brian) Pope; grandchildren, Hanna, Emma, Ava, Connor, and Kelsey Owen, Harrison, Hayden Hindson, Harper Pope; and great-grandchild, Jaxson Owen. 

Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler, KY. The funeral will take place the next day, also at the funeral home at 11 AM. 

Betty’s final resting place will be at Plum Creek Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made out to St. Elizabeth's auxiliary volunteer at 85 N. Grand Ave. Ft. Thomas, KY 41075.
