Butler — Geneva Fern Bockerstette, 94, of Butler, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026.
She was born in Pendleton County on September 5, 1931, daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Reed Courtney.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Bockerstette; and brother, Herman Courtney.
Geneva was a member of 2nd Twelve Mile Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Rick (Patty) Bockerstette, Dale (Julie) Bockerstette; grandchildren, Denise (Kris) Hanson, Michael (Kelly) Bockerstette, Kevin Bockerstette, Jason Bockerstette, Courtney (Cody) Grace, David (Erica) Bockerstette, Jacob Bockerstette; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. Officiating the service will be Jamie Thornberry. Pallbearers include Jason, Michael, David, Kevin and Jacob Bockerstette, Kris Hanson and Cody Grace.
Geneva’s final resting place was held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to 2nd Twelve Baptist Church.
