Butler — Bessie Telitha Hopkins, 93, of Butler, passed away April 15, 2025, at her home.
She was born in Wilder, on December 08, 1931, daughter of the late Jarvis and Millie Stewart Owens. Bessie was a retired machine operator for the DAV, she taught sewing for 4H, was a 1000-hour volunteer for Veterans Home and a member of the Rockcastle County Homemakers. She loved to bake and made prize winning quilts. She was an avid member of Central Baptist Church, in Mt. Vernon, Butler Baptist and 2nd Twelve Mile Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were siblings, Albert Owens, Helen Young, Wanda Hill and Lillian Owens.
Surviving her are daughter, Karen (Kenneth) Buckley; grandchildren, Kenneth Ross (Christina) Hill, Christopher Lane (Jamie) Hopkins; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Butler Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the 2nd Twelve Mile Baptist Church.
