The courtroom upstairs in the Pendleton County courthouse was full last Wednesday as residents from KY 22 west came to find out what was going on with their road.

Many of the residents were concerned that a proposed connector road from I-75 at Williamstown to Falmouth is going to come through their property on KY 22.

Pendleton County Judge Executive Henry Bertram called the meeting to inform the residents of what was  happening.

A project plan developed in 1986 for the Department of Transportation proposes an east-west connector road starting at the Barnes Pike interchange in Grant County, joining KY 330 near Falmouth.

A committee concept plan shows the connector road running more in line with the existing KY 22.

Michelle Frisch, a development planner for the NKADDATC said it’s only a concept map.

“There is no feasibility study being done,” she said. “Concept plans can change from year to year of the committee as a whole decides to change it.

Resident Rhonda Hutchison asked Bertram, “If this is only a concept plan and the committee came up with this over a year ago, why haven’t you told the residents about it? I don’t want my farm taken.

“Concept plans can become a reality,” she said.

The Morgan Raiders are getting a new $300 scoreboard. Coach Richard Gulick reported this week that several civic leaders of the Morgan community had donated to a fund to buy the scoreboard.

On Monday, students were bringing chickens to the school to be sold on the Cincinnati market. Money realized from the sale of chickens will be added to the scoreboard fund.

Anyone who wants to help should see Mr. Gulick.
