To the Citizens of Pendleton County,
After much thought, reflection and prayer, I am writing to inform you that I will not seek reelection as your County Judge/Executive in the upcoming election cycle.
This decision was not made lightly. Serving as your County Judge/Executive has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Over the years, I have been privileged to work alongside dedicated public servants, community leaders, and most importantly, the incredible people of Pendleton County. Together, we’ve faced challenges, celebrated progress, and worked toward a stronger, more resilient county.
When I first ran for this office, my goal was simple: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. I believe we have accomplished a great deal—whether it be in improving infrastructure, expanding public services, promoting economic development, or responding to crises with unity and resolve. I am proud of what we’ve achieved, and I am confident that the foundation we’ve built will support continued growth and success long after my term ends.
While I will not be a candidate for another term, my commitment to this community remains as strong as ever. I look forward to finishing my current term with the same energy, focus, and dedication that I’ve brought to this role from the beginning. There is still important work to be done, and I intend to see it through.
Thank you for the trust you have placed in me. Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your partnership over the years. It has been a true privilege to serve as your County Judge/Executive.
With gratitude and respect,
David S. Fields
