Air Force honors

U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt. Sara Thaxton Fuller graduated from the Air Force recruiting school on Sept. 4.

The 2002 Pendleton County High School graduate was selected to attend the recruiter’s school in early spring and received her recruiter certificate along with the prestigious peer nomination the MSgt. Salvador Torres Memorial Award for Outstanding Character and Leadership. Fuller had barely returned to her seat when she was called back to the stage, where she was presented the AETC Commander’s Award for being the top graduate with an overall score of 97%. She will begin her new recruiting career Sept. 12 at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.

The Air Force Recruiting School is an intense seven-week training course at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas.

Airmen are selected for recruiting school based upon their scores, past performance, recommendation from peers, and their commanding officers.

Fuller’s husband, Daniel, and daughter, Liberty, flew in from Wilmington, North Carolina, for the ceremony.
