The Pendleton County Wildcats soccer team dropped two of three games last week but were able to notch a historic win in the long history of the program as defeated St. Patrick on the new turf field at Sharp Middle School.

The Wildcats fell in back to back road games to Calvary Christian (6-1) and Mason County (3-0) before hosting St. Patrick on August 24. Pendleton County got two first half goals by Dawson Nichols and Jayden Frisch as they led St. Pat 2-1 at halftime. During the second half, it was all Wildcats as the offense exploded for seven goals to end the contest with six minutes in regulation and take a 9-1 win. Nichols led the way with four goals and Frisch, along with Hunter Keeton, added two apiece. Also getting into the score book was Ben Patton as he recorded his first varsity goal. Nichols also led with two assists as Alex Mosley, Luke Gregg, Brayden Tucker, Patrick Patton, Tristan Shipley and Lincoln Meyer also added assists during the win.

"After a shaky start, we were able to get going in the second half and our offense and passing was on point," said Wildcats head coach Amber Nichols.

"Being able to make history today on this new field is very special. It's something we'll all remember and be proud of," she added.

Up next for the Wildcats are a pair of road games as they travel to face Covington Holmes on August 27 followed by a August 29 contest at Campbell County.
