Mt. Gilead

Mt. Gilead has planned their Homecoming on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 2 p.m. There will be a dinner, special singing, and a message by Bro. Jonathan Rogers.

All preachers who have preached there at any time are invited to attend.

Everyone is welcome to the little church on the hill.

New Life Wesleyan

Come one, come all! Come by and visit with us sometime. Free breakfast from 8:15-9:45 a.m., Sunday school at 10am, and morning worship at 11.

Pastor Nick has now become the pastor of Salem Ridge Wesleyan which meets at 2 p.m. each Sunday, and he then heads back to New Life at 6 p.m. for our nightly service. Men's ministry is every Thursday night and Women ministry is every second Tuesday of the month.

We are open and thanking God for all He's doing at our little church. Much love shared. Much love given and received. Come see us. God is good all the time!

Have a wonderful week!

Summer is about over and school is ready to begin for most. We had several absent today, but we still had some visitors. Bro Kevin's message reminded us why we should fast:  sacrifice the physical to focus on the spiritual. Several of our folk are involved in the "Daniel Fast".

Ladies Bible Study (at church) is August 23 at 6:30 p.m.

Be sure to attend Kincaid Regional Theatre Kidz production of "Finding Nemo, Jr." the weekend of August 18-20.

Prayer concerns include Melva Moore, Lisa Blevins, Greg Ramsey, Gerald Barlow, Jeanine Cox, Cecil Jones, Cricket Polley, Billy Wilson, Gaye House Adams, Jerry Wright, Lily McCann, Tony Wright, Diane Moorhead, Kenni King, Jimmy Gregg, Geneva Morris, Carolyn Poore, shut-ins, cancer concerns, and our nation.

Our sympathy to loved ones of Pat Colvin, Gladys Frazier, Ralph Biddle, Mary Farrell Hillenmeyer, and Phyllis Jones.

Bro. Mark’s message was from Matthew 22:15-22.

Why do we go to Jesus?  What do we need him for?

The Pharisees tried to trap Jesus into saying something for which they could arrest him. Sir we know you are honest and teach the truth is it right to pay taxes to the Roman government or not? You hypocrites! This is a trick question. Money was not important to Jesus. Show me a coin and whose name is beneath the picture? It’s Caesar. Well then give it to Caesar if it’s his and give God everything that belongs to God. Jesus’ reply surprised them and they went away.

What is your prayer life like? Do you truly see God in your life? God completely offers his salvation as a free gift.

The children’s message was from 2 Thessalonians 3:6-13, We Work Hard. Bro. Dale talked with the kids about how important it is for them to work hard, in school and at home. God has given us capabilities and gifts and we should put them to good use.

Lyle Stephens read the scripture, Psalm 85:1-4; we lift Lyle in prayer as he heads to the University of Memphis this week. The Praise team brought special music followed by Bro. Dale’s message from Matthew 10:32-33, Confession. It is necessary to confess your sins, sin stands between us and the Father. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9.

Sunday evening we were blessed to have Matt Flanagan with us, the Children and Student Ministry Consultant with the Kentucky Baptist Convention. It is so important to plan for the children. Their hearts are open to hear the gospel, as we grow the hardness of the world often makes our hearts callous.

Pray for kids as they start back to school and that they see God’s love in the world.
