Matthew 7:7-12 is about praying. Keep asking, seeking, and knocking. Our prayers need to be genuine. The Pharisee thought he was a Christian because he was a good person. The publican tax collector spoke from the heart. The Lord knows our needs. Pray from your heart believing He will hear you and answer in His time and way.

VBS is coming up July 10-14.

Remember the family of Peggy Tucker.

Butler Christ Community

Greetings friends, we hope you are well and happy.

We are told in the Bible to put away evil desires, resist sin, and love God with all your heart, all your strength, and all your mind. This world we live in makes this a hard task, but we are able to try our best!

Ron and Debbie will be away on the July 23rd, and we are very pleased to have our dear friends Ron and Judy Redden coming to be with us on that date.

The ladies will not be having a meeting this month, but will be going to the Maysville Museum instead.

Please pray for Ron Hitch (suffered a fall), Kenni King, Cal Adams, Carolyn, DD, Carol, Shelia, Patty, Kenzie, Sandy, our world, our church, and we celebrate all our many blessings we have received this week as well!

May the Good Lord bless and keep you.

Mt. Gilead

Services are held on the third Sunday of the month. This month's service will be on July 16 at 2 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to the little church on the hill.New Life Wesleyan

Please write down Sunday, July 23rd, at 6 p.m., at the Fairgrounds, for the Pendleton County Co-op of Churches Old Fashioned Gospel Hymn Sing. Several churches are on the list so far. What about yours?

God bless you and keep you in His Hands this week.

Oakland

Our youth minister, Jon Hopp, brought the message of the morning reminding us that we must consider the culture of the day when trying to win someone to Christ. We need to realize that all cultures have a purpose and we must work with that culture telling others about Christ.

Vacation Bible School is over and was such a great success. We thank all for helping.

Looking ahead, we will be meeting at Camp Northward, July 30, at 10:30 a.m.  We'll have a pot-luck meal at noon.

Prayer concerns include Larry and Jenny Wright, Dorothy Herron, Jeanine Cox, Troy Green, Steve Jenkins, Bonnie Kavanaugh, Diane Moorhead, Kenni King, Linda Pettit Powell, shut-ins, cancer issues, and our nation.

Our sympathy to loved ones of Margie Godman and Peggy Tucker.

Pleasant Ridge

Bro. Mark’s message was from Galatians 5:1.

Stand fast! Liberty is where Christ made us free.  Don’t get all tied up in this world. Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. The helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness, shield of faith, belt of truth, the sword of the spirit, and feet prepared with gospel of peace.

We need to minister and be there for others. Love others as you love yourself.

Trinity

Trinity covered a sermon series called “Hearing the voice of God.” The  key take away points are:

1. Even in silence God is speaking

2. If your heart is on God, you’ll hear God

3. Who do you inquire of?

Trinity held a wonderful evening of food, fun, fellowship and fireworks at the Fairgrounds with 700+ in attendance. Follow the Trinity Facebook page for more summer events/updates. Ivan Parker is coming to perform soon!

Worship service is at 9:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. on Sundays and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Turner Ridge

The service Sunday morning started out in the best way possible, we rejoiced over the baptism of Presley Platt; pray for Presley as she starts her walk with Christ.

Freedom Isn’t Free was the title of the children’s message. Bro. Dale explained to the kids how men and women have fought and even died for our freedom and through their fight we are able to worship in church and attend VBS.

Micah Gregg read Deuteronomy 8:19-20 and we were truly blessed when Brandon and Kip Gregg brought special music, God Bless the USA. Those that have/had been in the military were recognized and Bro. Dale had prayer.

The message was A Solemn Warning from Deut. 8:1-18, 19-20, the points made during the message were to Keep God’s Commands, Love the Lord Your God, and Worship Only God.

Our evening service was also a great time of learning and worship – also a lesson of Love the Lord Your God.
