Blanket Creek

The message today was from Luke 22. In this scripture, the plot to kill Jesus begins. We know the story of Judas betraying Jesus for money and Peter denying Jesus three times after saying he wouldn’t. Jesus suffered unimaginable pain and heartache by dying on the cross for us. How do we repay Him? We deny Him daily when we do our own thing instead of His will. Remember, you can’t hide from Jesus. He sees all!

Remember the families of Deshae Hensen, Betty Nichols, Pam Cummins, and Cecil Jones. Have a blessed week.

Oakland

We were still discussing ways to worship. "Thanksgiving" is a way of worship.  We have a natural way to be thankful, and a spiritual way of gratitude, praise, etc.

We thank Larry Bowling for heading up such a wonderful Fishing Tourney for our youth. It was indeed a great event!

Ladies Bible Study at church is September 27 at 6:30 p.m.

The Men's Gathering at Camp Northward is coming September 29.

Turner Ridge

The children’s message Sunday morning was Fans or Followers, based on Mark 8:27-38, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” (verse 34) Jesus didn’t tell them it would be easy.

In the message Every Member In Ministry: With God, from Philippians 1:3-6 -we heard how God started it, God will complete it, and God will reward.

The greatest event in all history is when God gave his only Son for our sins. Our sins! Everyone’s; all we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and follow Him. The bible tells us we will be rewarded according to our works. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians. 2:10.

Both messages gave the same instructions – follow Jesus. If we are following Jesus, we will want to do the work and the reward will be plentiful!
