Two bodies found at Hogg Ridge home; ‘domestic situation’

WILLIAMSTOWN — Kentucky State Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide of two Pendleton County residents that occurred late Sunday on Hogg Ridge Road, north of Locust Grove and northeast of Williamstown.
Camille McClanahan, 40, was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound, according to state police from Post 6 in Dry Ridge. James Hall, 50, also died of an apparent gunshot wound “which appears to have been self-inflicted,” police stated.
Pendleton County Sheriff Jared Brewer said Monday morning that deputies were dispatched about 11:23 p.m. Sunday after a call came in requesting a welfare check on McClanahan.
“We showed up, found them and secured the scene,” Brewer said. Three units of deputies taped off the property and preserved evidence until the coroner and state police investigators could arrive, he said.
He said that he could not provide details about the call since the state police now had charge of the investigation.
Brewer did say that it appeared to be a domestic violence situation, so there is no further threat to public safety.
A state police news release states, “This incident remains under investigation by KSP Post 6 detectives.” Further details are being withheld during the investigation.
