Kincaid Lake State Park Job Fair Print E-mail

Adecco will be hosting a job fair for Kincaid Lake State Park on Tuesday, April 1 at the Kentucky Career Center, Pendleton County office. The event will be held from 1-4 p.m. at the Falmouth School Center, located at 500 Chapel Street.

Adecco will be hiring for campground staff, grocery store cashiers, dock attendants, golf course landscapers, and maintenance workers.

Hunter education course offered Print E-mail

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources will be sponsoring a free Kentucky Hunter Education course at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, March 29 at the Pendleton County Sportsman’s Club, Lock Road across from Northern Elementary. The course includes classroom instruction in hunter ethics, wildlife identification, outdoor survival, first aid, firearm safety, bow hunting and ammunition. The last session includes live fire and a written examination.

A course completion card will be issued to successful students which is valid in any state, province or territory in North America. Attendance at all sessions is required unless an alternative classroom method is utilized. Pre-registration is required beginning March 1, 2014 for all courses and is completed by visiting the Hunter Education page at fw.ky.gove.

Persons born on or after January 1, 1975, shall carry a valid hunter education course completion card while hunting. Kentucky accepts certifications from other states. A bow hunter not in possession of a firearm may carry a hunter education or a bow hunter education course completion card from any state. Hunter Education certification is in addition to appropriate license and permit requirements. Children must be nine years old in order to complete the course. Children under age 12 and persons exempt from purchasing a hunting license are not required to possess a hunter education card while hunting. However, children under age 12 who have not completed hunter education shall be accompanied by an adult of at least age 18 while hunting.

Wesley Chapel Memorial Fund Benefit Print E-mail

There will be a benefit for the Wesley Chapel Church Memorial Fund from 7-11 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 at the Alexandria Community Center, located at 8236 West Main Street, Alexandria, Ky.

Music will be provided by Diamond Head Mountain beginning at 7:30 p.m.

There will also be raffles, snacks, drinks, etc.

During the program, a free will offering will be taken. If you would like to write a check, which is tax deductible, please make it out to “Wesley Chapel Church Memorial Fund.”

109 Board spring clean-up Print E-mail

This year, the Pendleton County Spring Clean-up will be from March 28 until May 11. Registration began at 9 a.m. on March 22. Sign-ups will be taken by phone calls only. No walk-ins.

Permission slips will be needed for children between the ages of eight to 17 and can be obtained from the solid waste coordinator.

Groups must be non-profit and reside in Pendleton County.
