PCHS recognized for yearbook with nine awards

The 2011-2012 Pendleton County High School Echo Yearbook is celebrating nine awards. The book won second place honors in its classification in the American Scholastic Press Association Annual Contest/Review. Yearbooks were judged according to school size and awarded points in various categories. The points were then tallied and totals determined the which award the book was given. In addition to awards, judges gave critiques of each book. This is the first time that The Echo was submitted for judging and critique in this contest.

Jordan Blackaby inducted into Lambda Sigma Honor Society Print E-mail

A local student at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), Jordan Blackaby of DeMossville, has recently been inducted into Mu Chapter of Lambda Sigma Honor Society. Lambda Sigma is a national organization which recognizes first year students for their scholarship and service.

She was one of the 27 students selected out of more than 4,000 first year students at EKU. Lambda Sigma recognizes outstanding first-year students on 40 campuses around the United States. The society is dedicated to fostering leadership, scholarship, fellowship, and the spirit of service among college students.

They join more than 55,000 Lambda Sigma alumni around the world who have been recognized by the organization since it was founded at the University of Pittsburgh in 1922.

Open interviews at Pendleton One Stop Center Print E-mail

The Pendleton County One Stop, Falmouth School Center, 500 Chapel Street, Falmouth will be hosting the DHL Express "Open Interview Fair" from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Monday, May 20 at the One-Stop Pendleton County.

They are currently hiring part-time and third shift package handlers. As a service agent, you could be assigned to one of the following positions: ramp, unload, sort, tug, forklift or reload.
