Have you ever wanted to be an artist? Print E-mail

Have you ever wanted to learn how to become an artist? Come to the library on Saturday, May 18 and let Mrs. Connie Lemons show you how to paint a picture using acrylic paints and wood. The class will start at 9 a.m. and last most of the day. Cost will be $35. This includes everything you will need to paint your masterpiece. Please bring a bag lunch and enjoy the day at the library.

Connie has been to the library before and everything she shows people how to paint has turned out beautifully. Picture above is the artwork that has been chosen. Please sign up by May 15 at the library or on the Pendleton County Library Facebook page.

Earth Day Celebration at the library Print E-mail

The Pendleton County Public Library will be hosting an Earth Day celebration for students in fifth through twelfth grade.

Students in grades ninth though twelfth are invited to attend from 6 - 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23. They will be learning ways to preserve the Earth and making an environmentally-friendly craft. Snacks will be provided.

Fifth through eighth grade will be celebrating Earth Day from 6 - 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24. They will also be learning ways to preserve the Earth and making an environmentally-friendly craft. Snacks will be provided.

Relay for Life Cutest Pet Contest Print E-mail

Enter your cute pet’s photo in the Relay For Life "Cutest Pet Contest." Submit a photo of your cute pet along with a $5 donation. Proceeds go to Relay For Life to support The American Cancer Society.

Entries must be delivered no later than June 15. Winners will be selected by the Celebrate Birthday Relay For Life Team. Selection of the judges will be final. Winners will be notified by June 20.

Winning photos will be featured on the teams Relay For Life website, on Facebook, in the newspaper, in Linda Rees' real estate newsletter and at the Relay For Life event on June 21-22 at the Pendleton County Fairgrounds.

Checks should be made out to Relay For Life. If you wish to submit your photo in person or electronically, reach out to Linda at 859-472-5436 for instructions.

Pilates class offered at library Print E-mail

Do you want to get into shape for the summer? The Pendleton County Library, along with Mrs. Shawn Nordheim, will be offering a pilates class from 6 - 7 p.m. starting Monday, May 6. Cost will be $3 per person. Bring a mat or towel with you to lay or sit on.  Any questions, call the library at 859-654-8535 and ask for Karen.

 
Crowley's celebrate 50th anniversary Print E-mail

The family of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Crowley would like to congratulate them on their 50th wedding anniversary.  The past 50 years have blessed JC and Myra Jane with six children and 11 grandchildren. May they have many more years together!
