Homemakers discourage littering Print E-mail

Dear Editor,

The Butler Homemakers picked up four miles of highway and we had fourteen bags of litter. That is a lot for a small side road. It was the same fast food containers, beer and pop cans, water bottles and much more. Please take your litter home and dispose of it.

Thanks,

Butler Homemakers

Falmouth Wesleyan cleans up Straightshoot Print E-mail

Dear Editor,

It was a privilege for Falmouth Wesleyan Church to pick up the trash on Straightshoot Road on Saturday, July 14 as part of the county trash pickup. Fifteen of our church members gathered 20 bags of garbage and were blessed by how the rain stopped long enough for us to complete this project. We look forward to helping with this again in the future.

People of Pendleton County our lake is down three to four feet. It is filling in really bad and we need to get something done before we loose our beautiful lake. Please this dumb hillbilly needs all of you to come and support this and get something done by the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife that owns this lake.

Plea for all democrats to get vote Print E-mail

Dear Editor,

Hello, Pendleton County, from the Democratic Woman's Club. We are back from the summer break. We hope that all of you have had a nice summer!

Now is the time to get back into the swing of things. Such as, Geoff Davis who has resigned from his position due to family health reasons. Governor Beshear has to call for a special election. We need all and I mean all democrats to get out and vote in this election to elect a democrat such as Bill Adkins, in place of Geoff Davis, as well as to vote in the November election.

Also, don't forget to re-elect Rep. Tom McKee.

Now, for those people who have forgotten, this economy got in this mess after eight years, yes, I said, eight years of former president George W. Bush and former vice-president Dick Cheney. We were at a surplus with former President Clinton, yes a surplus, before, the Bush/Cheney era. Now, I don't know about you, but when our country was at surplusm, and Bush/Cheney took over, then it seems to me that a president who comes in, cannot get us back to where we were in four years. Absolutely not! I don't care who it is. But you can take this to the bank, that if we have another four or eight years of republicans leading in the White House and this nation, we will be doomed. Now, I need all democrats to take action, rise to the occasion and take advantage of their privilege. Go vote.

Any individuals who need to sign up to vote, need to get it done ASAP. Let's help move this country forward. Thank you! Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Tress Thompson
Pendleton County Democratic Woman's Club, president
