Future CheerCats cheerleading sign-ups Print E-mail

The New Year will bring the Future Wildcats Basketball League and the opportunity for the Future CheerCats to begin their season. Sign-ups are underway and due December 20 to avoid a late fee.

Registration forms were passed out to every elementary-age girl before Thanksgiving but if your daughter’s did not make it home, you can obtain one at the following locations:

• The Griffin Fitness Center where the Pendleton Recreation Office is located.  Open 5 -9 p.m. each Monday-Friday.

• The Pendleton County government website, www.pendletoncounty.ky.gov, click on Youth Sports on the right hand side of the header.

•  The Pendleton County Recreation Facebook page for information directing you to the location of the registration forms.

Tarhe Sports to hold women's classes soon Print E-mail

Just in time for that New Year's resolution!

Tarhe Sports & Learning Center will be offering a weekly cardio and fitness workout class from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. beginning Friday, January 4. This class is for women only and is taught by a female instructor.

Classes will be held at the gym located at 578 U.S. 27 South in Falmouth.

The first class is free! Daily, weekly or monthly schedules are available.

Huhn takes 16-pointer in Demossville Print E-mail

While hunting on his father-in-law's farm in Demossville, Chris Huhn killed a 16-point buck around 9 a.m. on Sunday, November 25. The deer scored 196 3/8 and weighed over 200 pounds field dressed. He is waiting for the drying period to get it officially scored. Chris has been hunting for four years now.

Nate Jones' number to be retired Print E-mail

Through hard work, dedication and commitment, Nate Jones rose from the baseball field of Volunteer Park at Eiler’s Field behind Pendleton County High School to the mound of NKU Baseball Field and eventually to the Comiskey Park in Chicago home of the White Sox.

He made his debut versus the Texas Rangers and came through the television screen larger than life when he struck out reigning MVP Josh Hamilton.

Now, the Pendleton County Wildcats baseball team is honoring Nate Jones by retiring his jersey and hosting a Nate Jones night at the PC Wildcats basketball game versus Augusta on Thursday, December 6.

There will be festivities throughout the night culminating with the retirement of the #25 by the PC Wildcats at halftime.

Come out and join the PC Cat Nation in honoring Nate for his accomplishments and thanking him for being a great representative of PCHS and Pendleton County.

Maggie Miles named First Team All Region Golf Team Print E-mail

The Ky Golf Coaches Association honors players throughout the state with All-State and All-Region teams.

Ladycats Senior Maggie Miles was voted by the 8th Region coaches as a member of the 8th Region All-Region Team.

"Maggie had a great senior season and her making the all-region team is well deserved."  Ladycat coach Keaton Belcher commented.

Ready to drop Thanksgiving pounds? Print E-mail

Did you spend the holiday weekend with a plate full of turkey, mashed potatoes, bread dressing, corn pudding, rolls and butter, ham, oyster dressing and mac & cheese?  And then a second one?  And then a third one?

There are ellipse machines, treadmills and stationary bikes for cardiovascular and an wide assortment of weight machines for any strength program.  In addition, a large number of free weights, bars and benches for a strength building program.
