Aaron Teegarden competes at State Track Meet Print E-mail

Senior Aaron Teegarden double qualified for the KHSAA State Track Meet in shot put and discus.  He is preparing for a shot put throw that was over 43’ and captured 3rd place in the region meet.

Pendleton County Track hosted the Area 5 Region 4 Track Meet on Saturday, May 11 and senior Aaron Teegarden capped a successful track career with his third appearance in the KHSAA State Track Meet. He competed at the University of Louisville on Friday, May 17.

He competed in both shot put and discus. The top two from each region automatically qualifies for the state meet.  The next 10 lowest times or longest distances from all regions also qualify for the state tournament.

Ladycats set to host 38th District Tournament Print E-mail

The Ladycats softball team concluded its regular season last week by notching a lopsided win on Senior Night. The team will host the 38th District Tournament and look for the opportunity to advance to regionals for the first time in 11 years on Tuesday, May 21.

The Ladycats finished the regular season with a 7-10 record, the best mark posted by the club since 2006.

The continued rainy Spring limited the Pendleton County Ladycats to just one softball game last week, a road loss to district rival Harrison County in a one-sided contest 16-0.

Despite the outcome, head coach Steven Peed continues to express optimism about his club as the regular season enters its final week.

Collins hosting future Ladycats basketball camp Print E-mail

Coach Scott Collins became the first Ladycat Basketball Coach in school history to win a second 38th District Title. But not resting on his laurels, he hosts the 2013 Future Ladycat Basketball Camp and preparing his future players for the demands of playing Ladycat Basketball and winning district championships.

The camp will be held on Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, May 31. Campers entering the first thru fifth grades can attend from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Campers entering sixth thru eighth grade can attend from noon to 2 p.m.  Cost is only $25.

The Ladycat coaching staff believes in the teaching and demonstration of fundamental skills required for the game of basketball. We want to instill a hard work ethic in a fun environment to help interested players develop the necessary skills to play in the competitive setting.

Youth Wildcat basketball camp Print E-mail

Ed Cravens will be looking for the next generation of Wildcat stars when he hosts the Wildcat Youth Basketball Camp on Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, May 31. The purpose of this camp is to introduce, improve, and reinforce the fundamental skills of basketball.

The camp is organized into two separate instructional sessions, to better accommodate the needs of the individual campers.  Students second grade through fifth grade will have camp from 8-11 a.m. Students sixth through ninth grade will have camp from noon to 3 p.m.

Youth soccer camp registration Print E-mail

Soccer is a worldwide phenomenon and coach Stacey Myers, the Ladycat coaching staff and players are doing their part on the pitches of Pendleton County with a youth camp in the evenings from 6-8 p.m., June 3-6. Camp will be held at the soccer fields in front of Southern Elementary.

Appropriate age and development instruction will be given to each player. Cost is only $40 and both girls and boys are welcome.

CheerCat youth camp May 28-31 Print E-mail

Finishing up a KHSAA 4th place state finish, the CheerCats are ready to start the next generation on to their own state tournament run by hosting the Pendleton Co. CheerCats camp in the evenings from 6-7:30 p.m. on May 28-May 31.

Campers will learn stunting, tumbling, and team building that is essential to an outstanding cheer program.

P.C. Alum catching for Thomas More baseball team Print E-mail

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Baseball Committee awarded the Thomas More College baseball team (29-14) Pool C (at-large) bid to the NCAA Division III Championship and will travel to Terre Haute, Indiana to play the College of Wooster (32-10) on Wednesday, May 15, 2013) in a first round game of the MidEast Regional hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at Art Nehf. First pitch for the game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
