PC Extension announces photo contest Print E-mail

The theme of this year’s photo contest sponsored by the Pendleton County Extension Homemakers at the Pendleton County Youth Fair will be hand water pumps.

Take a photo of a hand water pump (such as a cistern hand pump) in Pendleton County. The photo must measure 5”x7” and must be mounted on an 8”x10” mounting board.

The person taking the winning photo will receive a picture frame and $25 both sponsored by the Pendleton County Extension Homemakers.

Entries need to be submitted on Monday, July 21, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Floral Hall at the Pendleton County Fairgrounds.

On the back of the picture attach the following information: name, address, city, state, zip, phone number, date of photo, location of the hand pump, the reason this picture was chosen and any additional information of local interest such as the story or history of the pump, is it still in use and your connection to the pump.

2014 “Sticker Shock” Campaign Print E-mail

A Community Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol and Tobacco is the focus of the Sticker Shock campaign of the Pendleton County Champions Coalition in collaboration with FCCLA, SADD, 4H, FBLA, Senior Council, Student Council and Pendleton County Law Enforcement. The Campaign was launched at area liquor and tobacco stores to remind adults to obey the law.  The campaign was held the week of May 21 and 22nd.
