Amish Country Tour, August 25-27 Print E-mail

Join the Pendleton County Cooperative Extension Service as they embark on an educational and exciting journey that will take you to some of Ohio’s premier agricultural sites. Dates are August 25-27 and cost of the trip is $375 per person.

Highlights include:  Behalt Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center, Lehman’s General Store, Helping Hands Quilt Shop, Heini’s Cheese Chalet, Half Stitched - musical, Velvet Ice Cream Company and Historic Roscoe Village.

Senior citizen activity schedule Print E-mail

Senior Citizens of Pendleton County, some exciting activities are coming up this week at the Falmouth Senior Activity Center, located at 1111 Chipman Street, Falmouth, Ky.

Following are a few dates to remember:

• June 11: Lindie Huffman with the Pendleton County Extension office will be at the center at 10 a.m. teaching about “Ticks and Summer Safety.”

• June 13: Kenna Knight from the Pendleton County Extension office will be teaching nutrition education. You must be present for this one hour class to be considered for the voucher program.

There is always coffee, fellowship, card games, puzzles and a good time here at the senior center. Come out and enjoy some fellowship with your friends.

Don’t forget the center has exercise equipment available for the community, Wii bowling, Wii fitness, van services for doctor appointments and several other amenities!

Don’t miss the cake auction! Print E-mail

Mark your calendars now for the second annual cake auction sponsored by the Pendleton County Extension Homemakers beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 21, at the Pendleton County Fairgrounds.

The cake auction will be held in the Griffin Center just prior to the pageant.

All money raised from the cake auction supports the Extension Homemakers’ local scholarships for graduating high school seniors.

There are sure to be Blackberry Jam cakes, maybe a Red Velvet cake, Carrot cake, and more! Come early to select the cake you want to bid on!

Come out to the fairgrounds to have a great time and let someone else do the baking for your family gathering this summer!

PC Summer Recreation kick-off Print E-mail

Pendleton County Summer Recreation is kicking off its’ summer season on Wednesday, June 4, at Southern Elementary. The schedule is filled with fun activities, learning opportunities and trips to a variety of places including twice a week swimming at Kincaid Lake State Park.

PC Recreation registration forms for K-5th grade were distributed last week and/or can be picked up at the Pendleton Recreation Office in the Griffin Fitness Center at Pendleton County High School between 5-9 p.m.
