Jolynn Redden at  River Valley Nursing Home in Butler received the 2013 Kentucky Health Care Foundation Scholarship at the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities (KAHCF) Annual Quality Awards Banquet on November 14.

Pendleton County Senior activities Print E-mail

Attention Pendleton County seniors! There are some exciting activities coming up this week at the Falmouth Senior Activity Center, located at 1111 Chipman Street, Falmouth, Ky.

Following are a few dates to remember:

• December 4 - The Personal Clinic will be here beginning at 10 a.m. checking blood pressure, blood sugar, and doing medicine management checks. This is a free program to Pendleton County seniors.

• December 5 - Euchre Tournament begins at 9:45 a.m. Call Joanna if you would like to sign up to play.

• December 6 - Michele with Personal Touch will be at the center playing games.

If you have a New Year’s resolution regarding your health or weight, don’t forget that the senior center has exercise equipment, Wii bowling, and Wii fitness. Van Services for doctor appointments and several other amenities are available as well!

For information on any activities that are going on, please call Joanna at the senior center at 859-654-6029.

PC Sheriff's Office accepting names for "Shop With A Cop" Print E-mail

The Pendleton County Sheriff's office is now accepting children's names between the ages of 8-12 years old for their "Shop With A Cop" program.

Parents must have the child's name, address, age, phone number and parents names on an index card. Deadline to have the names into the office is Monday, December 16. You can mail them or drop them off at the sheriff's office at 202 Chapel Street, Falmouth, KY 41040.

The "Shop With A Cop" will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. All are to meet at the sheriff's office at 5 p.m. The sheriff’s office thanks everyone for their donations.

City of Butler Toy Drive Print E-mail

Christmas will soon be here and the city of Butler is available for families who need help with toys during the holidays. The city will accept names of children 12 years and under who are not helped by any other service. General information about the child is needed: the child's name, gender, age, parents' name, address and phone  number. The city of Butler will accept names no later than December 12, 2013. Children must live within a five mile radius of Butler.

Butler's Christmas Parade ~ December 7 Print E-mail

It's time to start thinking about participating in Butler's Christmas Parade!

The parade will be Saturday, December 7 with line up at noon. The parade will start at 1 p.m. from the community center at 110 Mill Street. Santa will be riding on the other fire truck so no other Santa's please. Organizations, people walking, bicycles, tractors, motorcycles, cars, fire trucks, horses and floats are welcome to participate.

After the parade Santa will meet with the children at the community center and have his picture taken with them. There will be cookies, coffee and hot chocolate for everyone to enjoy.

If you know of anyone that would be interested in being in the parade please pass this information on to them. Come out and help make this the best parade ever. The theme for this year is simple, "It's Christmas!" The city of Butler hopes to see you on the 7th!
