Emergency Book Sale at library Print E-mail

Due to the generous donations from BB’s Shell Station and many other individuals in celebration of “National Book Lover’s Day,” the Pendleton County Public Library’s book closet is filled to the brim!  They will be having an Emergency Book Sale during the month of February so come and take a look at what’s available. Hardcover and oversized paperbacks are selling for $1 and regular paperbacks are .50¢.


Mt. Moriah to host Bluegrass Gospel Concert Print E-mail

Mt. Moriah Christian Church will be hosting a Bluegrass Gospel Concert featuring Williamson Branch at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 18. Paul’s Ministry will also be performing.

A love offering will be taken to support the Williamson Branch Ministry.

The church is located at 314 Hwy 17 N., Butler, KY 41006.

Alton and Beulah Elrod to celebrate 65th wedding anniversary Print E-mail


Alton and Beulah Elrod will be celebrating 65 years of marriage on January 22. This special milestone in their lives is one they have looked forward to for many years.

Local judges participate in Circuit Judges Fall College Print E-mail

Circuit Court Judge Jay Delaney and Family Court Judge Barbara L. Paul, who represent Harrison, Nicholas, Pendleton and Robertson counties, participated in the 2013 Circuit Judges Fall College that took place Nov. 18-20 in Lexington. The Administrative Office of the Courts provided the judicial education program for the state’s circuit judges.

PC Historical Society sets first meeting of 2014 Print E-mail

The January Meeting of Pendleton County’s Historical Society is at 11 a.m., January 18 at the Fryer House Museum. It will be the first meeting of the 2014 calendar year. Members should be aware that dues are on a January-December schedule every year so prepare to renew now. Membership applications are available on the web site for new members.

You are reminded that Fryer House is open every third Tuesday from 10 a.m.  - 2 p.m. for research. It will be open January 21.

Come and be a part of your historical society in this new year. Great plans will begin to fall in place and you can participate as a member.

Regular meetings are the third Saturday of every month at 11 a.m.

Seniors activity schedule Print E-mail

Hey Pendleton County seniors! There are some exciting activities coming up this week at the Falmouth Senior Activity Center, located at 1111 Chipman Street, Falmouth, Ky.

Following are a few dates to remember:

• January 22: It’s Club Day. There will be great entertainment and everyone is sure to have a good time!

• January 23: Come out for the Euchre Tourney. Call the office if you would like to play and reserve your spot.

• January 24: Missy from Burlington Pharmacy will be at the center doing manicures.

Remember if you have a New Year’s resolution regarding your health or weight that the senior center has exercise equipment, Wii bowling, and Wii fitness available. There is also van services for doctor appointments and several other amenities!

The Pendleton County Republicans enjoyed a wonderful Christmas celebration on Tuesday, December 17 at Howard's Place in Falmouth. The evening began with a short business meeting to finalize the 2013 accounts and then the annual awards were presented.
