Katherine Elizabeth Rose, 76 of Falmouth, passed away Saturday March 16, 2013 at the U.K. Medical Center, Lexington.
Surviving are sons, Junior Flynn and Ricky Rose both of Falmouth, Russell Flynn, Mt. Washington, Ky.; and daughter, Mary Marie Bishop.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013 with the funeral services immediately following at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth.
Interment will take place at the Short Creek Cemetery in Pendleton County.

Leamon T. Wolfe, 86, of Ocala, Fla. passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in Florida.
He was born in Pendleton County on August 15, 1926 to the late Thomas and Edith Downing Wolfe.
Preceding him in death, in addition to parents, was wife, Myrtle Wolfe.
Visitation will take place from noon to 2:30 p.m. with funeral services immediately following on Thursday, March 21, 2013, under full military honors at the Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.
Interment will take place at the Butler Cemetery, Pendleton Co.

Robert Earl Sumpter, 81, of Cold Springs passed away on March 15, 2013 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Thomas.
Mr. Sumpter was a veteran of the United States Army.
Surviving are wife, Grace Rains Sumpter, Cold Springs; son, Jimmy Walker, Latonia; and daughter, Judy Sipple, Maine.
Interment will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Williamstown under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home.

Joshua Dale Beach, 31, of Warsaw passed away Saturday, March 9 in Sparta.
Surviving are father, Roy L. Beach, Sr., of Warsaw; sons, Joshua and Ethan Beach, Falmouth, Cameron Beach, Williamstown; and daughters, Ashton Beach, Falmouth, Haileigh Redwine, Baltimore, Md.
Funeral services were held on March 14, 2012 at the Hamilton–Stanley Funeral Home, Verona, KY.
Interment took place at the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.

Betty Jo Hurt McClanahan, 76, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center.
Surviving is daughter, Patricia (William) Brumley, Nicholasville.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 18, 2013 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road.
Interment took place at the Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.

Eugene "Sonny" Flairty, 81, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013 at his home.
He was born in Grants Lick on April 3, 1931, to the late William and Mabel Pribble Flairty. Sonny was a member of Eastside Park Christian Church and a former United States Marine, involved in restoring Taylor Family Cemetery. He also was an avid farmer, a neighborhood repairman and retired from Trauth Dairy.
Preceding him in death, in addition to parents, were sister, Thelma Bray; and brothers, Alfred and Donald Flairity.
Surviving are wife, Alma Faye Fryer Flairty, Butler; sons, Steve Flairty, Lexington and Mike (Theresa) Flairty, Butler; brothers, Kenneth and James Flairty, both of Alexandria, Robert Flairty, Greenville, S.C.; sisters, Blanche Cox, Williamsburg, Naomi Knight, Crittenden, Doris Hofstetter, Alexandria; and grandchildren, Evan and Matthew Flairty.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 1, 2013 at Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.
Interment took place at the Butler Cemetery, Butler.

Rudolph “Doc” Granville Fossitt, 101, of California, Ky. passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Baptist Convalescent Center.
He was born in Campbell County, on December 18, 1911 to the late Earl and Minnie Shaver Fossitt and was married to Edna Cunningham Riddle Fossitt on November 15, 1959. He was a member of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church and made his living farming.
Preceding him in death, in addition to parents, were brothers, Lance, Albert and Clarence Fossitt; sisters, Violet Vanlandingham and Alice Rose; and granddaughter, Sonia Rose (2006).
Surviving are wife, Edna Cunningham Riddle Fossitt, California, Ky.; daughter, Harriet Riddle Smith, Lebanon, Ohio; granddaughters, Melanie and Tammy Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 and funeral services at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.
Interment will take place at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, California, Ky.

Philip Ray Black, 70, of Demossville passed away at his home on Thursday, February 28, 2013 surrounded by his loving family after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Philip was born in Covington, on April 20, 1942 and was a 1960 graduate of Simon Kenton High School. He was a United States Navy Veteran of nine and half years, serving on aircraft carrier USS Independence as part of the Naval blockade of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, also stationed at Naval Air Station, Key West, Fla. and Vietnam War Veteran serving on aircraft carrier USS Forrestal in 1967. During his tour off the Coast of Vietnam he survived a devastating fire aboard the Forrestal that still remains the worst Naval disaster since World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1969. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Post 109. He was a fire fighter with the Greater Cincinnati Airport Fire Department, a Boone County fire marshal, founder of the Florence Rescue, director of Disaster and Relief Services for Boone County and EMT. Philip retired as a truck driver for Roadway Express after 26 years of accident free service in 2002. He was awarded Kentucky Colonel at age 32 for his work in ambulance and fire fighting and was a man that made a difference, saved lives, witnessed history, and never bragged about it. But his close friends and family will always remember the true hero he was.
Preceding him in death were parents, Sam and Neva Walcott Black; first born son, Kevin Black; and brother, Samuel Black Jr.
Surviving are wife of 49 years, Ruth Carolyn nee McMillian Black; daughter, Julie (Paul) Dargis; son, Mark (Robin) Black; and grandchildren, Stephen, Andrew, Lauren Black and Olivia Dargis.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.
Interment will take place at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery under full military honors by the American Legion Post 109.
