Donald Horn, 46 Print E-mail

Donald Ray Horn, 46, of Williamstown passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital, Florence.

He was born in Fayette Co. on August 7, 1966 to the late Jesse and Alice Dickson Horn.

Surviving are wife, Tonya Herring Horn, Williamstown; daughter, Amber (Merrell Jennings) Horn, Williamstown; brothers, Richard Dickson, S.C., Ronald Horn, Falmouth; sister, Sharon Eversole, London, Ky.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2013 with funeral services immediately following at the Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.

Interment will take place at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Grant Co.

Military services held for Delaney Print E-mail

American Legion Post 109 and V.F.W. Post 1978 and D.A.V. Post members held full military services for Mr. Thomas Delaney at the St. Xavier Cemetery on  March 21, 2013.

Mr. Delaney served in the United States Marines.

David Junior Baker, 75, of Cynthiana passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at his home.

Surviving are wife Louise; and  children, Dorothy May (Joe) Young, Cynthiana, Robert (June) DeBruler, Cynthiana, Sheila DeBruler (Kent) Miles, Paris, Ricky (Peggy) DeBruler, Cynthiana.

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry with Chaplain Rick Snyder officiating.

Interment took place at the Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana.

Oleda Edwards, 93 Print E-mail

Oleda Edwards, 93,  of Newport passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Newport Baptist Convalescent Center.

She was born in Kentucky on March 31, 1919, to the late William and Maude Coghill Lonaker.

Preceding her in death, in addition to parents, was husband, Harry Edwards.

Surviving are sons, Jerry Edwards, Independence, Steven Edwards, Highland Heights; daughter, Audrey Buchanan, Alexandria; and grandchildren, LeeAnn Bentley, Tina Morman, Tonya Duffey, Sean and Jay Edwards.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - noon, Wednesday, March 27, 2013 with funeral services immediately following at Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.

Interment will take place at the Butler Cemetery, Butler.

Katherine Elizabeth Rose, 75, of Falmouth passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the U.K. Medical Center, Lexington.

Surviving are sons, Junior Flynn and Ricky Rose both of Falmouth, Russell Flynn, Mt. Washington, Ky.; and  daughter, Mary Marie Bishop.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Woodhead Funeral Home,  Falmouth.

Interment took place at the Short Creek Cemetery in Pendleton Co.

George "Tommy" Delaney, 74 Print E-mail

George Thomas "Tommy" Delaney, 74, of Taylor Mill passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at his home.

Born on April 26, 1938, in Falmouth, to the late John Franklin and Florine Velma Daugherty Delaney. From 1970-2000, he worked in sales and as a truck driver for Stanley Tranter, Norky, and Z&S Distributors and before that from 1960-1970, he worked for Butternut Bakery in sales and transportation. Tommy served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1959 serving his tour of duty overseas, including Japan. Mr. Delaney was a former part-time bartender for Nielander's in Covington and Moreland's in Sun Valley, Ky., an employee of Eaton Oil Works, and an employee of the Kentucky State Police. He was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Alexandria, and loved riverboat gambling, gardening, yard work, and spending time with his family.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, Patricia Ann Upthegrove on March 23, 2012; sisters, Mary Catherine Hetterman,  Eleanor Gillespie and Dorothy Hesler; brothers, Frank Delaney and John E. Delaney;  and daughter, Kim Upthegrove Hellings.

Surviving are sons, Mark (Eileen) Delaney, Fishers, Ind., Jeff (Sandra) Delaney,  Hamilton, Ohio and Troy "Tate" Upthegrove Jr., Alexandria; daughters,  Tina Delaney Ruffin, Erlanger,  Terri Delaney, Seven Fields, Pa., Kathy Delaney Jones, Taylor Mill, Tara Upthegrove (Jerry) Orth, Alexandria and Tammy Upthegrove (Jay) Schweitzer, Cynthiana;  sisters,  Alma Delaney Crawford, Geneva Delaney Habermehl, Joan Delaney Faulkner, all of Falmouth and Patricia Delaney Sellers, Vicksburg, Mich.; brother, Joe Paul Delaney, Falmouth; 22 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren (with one due in June); and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Alexandria with Mass of Christian Burial  immediately following, with Father Joseph Gallenstein officiating. A memorial gathering  will also be held for food and fellowship from 9-11:30 a.m. in the undercroft before the services. Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, is serving the family.

Interment will take place following the mass at the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Falmouth, with full military honors by the Hardin-Browning Post #109 and escort by the Patriot Guard Riders.

Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G. Street NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005.

Clifton R. Webster, 90 Print E-mail

Clifton R. Webster, 90, formerly of Knoxville, passed away at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Florence on March 14, 2013.

He was born in Verona on June 14, 1922 and was a long time signal maintainer for the L.&N. Railroad in the Falmouth area. Mr. Webster was a member of the Knoxville Baptist Church and served his country during World War II in the United States Army.

Preceding him in death  were brothers, Glenn and Howard Webster.

Surviving are wife of 70 plus  years, Kathleen; children, Lawrence R. Webster, York, Pa.,  Rick D. Webster, Erlanger and Katsia Baird, Mt. Zion; brother, Leo Webster, Crittenden; four grandchildren; and  11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 17, 2013 at  the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home,  Crittenden.

Interment took place at the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the New Bethel Cemetery, P. O. Box 67, Verona, KY 41092.

Lee Brown, 69 Print E-mail

Lee Brown, 69, of Butler passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital.

He was born in Barbourville, Ky. on August 27, 1943 to the late James Floyd and Rosie Price Brown. Mr. Brown was a member of the Falmouth Church of God, ran heavy equipment for Rumpke and loved to fish and hunt.

Preceding him in death, in addition to parents, were son, Terry Brown; brothers, Kenneth, Claude, Chester and Eugene Brown; and sisters, Kathy Bunkie and Sue Johnson.

Surviving are wife, Lois Johnson Brown; sons, Randy (Carol) Brown and Wesley Brown, all of Butler; daughter-in-law, Cindy Brown, Falmouth; brothers, Clyde Brown, DeMossville, James Brown, Falmouth; sister, Mary Jane Smith, Tenn.; grandchildren, Kelsey, Dakota and Morgan Brown, Christina Wallace, Matthew Morgan; and great-grandchild, Jordan Wallace.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013 and the funeral services at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.

Interment will take place at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Butler.
