Donna Courtney Lonaker, 55 Print E-mail

Donna Courtney Lonaker, 55, of Falmouth passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital, Ft. Thomas.

She was born in Ft. Thomas on September 26, 1958 to the late Arthur Thomas and Julia M. Smith Courtney, was a member of the Falmouth Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxillary Post 109.

Preceding her in death, in addition to parents, were sister, Elizabeth Hamilton; brothers, Robert Lee, Bruce, Joseph and Charles "Popeye" Courtney.

Surviving are husband, Steve Lonaker; sons, Donnie Ray, Thomas Dale and Tyrone Lonaker; sisters, Geneva Hutchinson, Joyce Lowery and Barb Cannon; brothers, William T. and Ricky A. Courtney and 16 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth with funeral services at 2 p.m., June 12, 2014 also at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.

Harold "Dana" Pugh, 64, of Falmouth, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Health Care, Edgewood.

Surviving are wife, Patricia Hale Pugh; sons, Michael (Lona) Wagner, Cynthiana, Christopher (Gina) Wagner, Falmouth; and daughter, Sandi Hacker, Phoenix, Ariz.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at his farm, 2890 Gumlick Rd., Falmouth, KY 41040.

Mary Elizabeth Courtney, 74 Print E-mail

Mary Elizabeth Records Courtney, 74, of Falmouth, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Health Care in Edgewood.

She was born at home in Pendleton County on May 30, 1939, to the late Eugene and Florence Hazel Spanier Records. She was a talented seamstress who worked at the former Dr. Scholl’s Shoe Factory in Falmouth, US Shoe and Hammer Strength.  Whether she was pitching on the softball team, cheering her children and grandchildren to victory, or coaching the Cincinnati Reds and the UK Wildcats from her house, she absolutely loved sports of all kinds. Mary also loved going to Wal-Mart, playing Bingo and visiting the Pendleton County Senior Center and was a member of the Falmouth Christian Church and she also attended Antioch Mills Christian Church.

Preceding  her in death, in addition to her parents, were siblings: Thomas, Charles, Mildred, Ella Louise and Martin.

Surviving are children, Mary Ann (Randy) Colvin and son, Eddie (Teresa) Rarrieck, both of Falmouth; sister, Charlotte Bruin, Satsuma, Fla.; grandchildren, Karri (Brian), Chad (April), Chase (Kayla), Christian, Brian, Heather (Brandon) and Corey; several great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 2, 2014, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with Bro. Darrell Breeden officiating.            Interment took place at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Pendleton County.

Memorials are suggested to the Pendleton County Senior Center: 1111 Chipman Street, Falmouth, KY 41040.

Terry Lee Downard, 63 Print E-mail

Terry Lee Downard, 63, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Hospice of Hope Kenton Pointe Care Center.

He was born April 29, 1951 to the late Oral Downard Jr. and Vivian (Jerry) Hampton. Terry was a United States Army Veteran and a member of New Zion Baptist.

Surviving are wife, of 42 years, Judy Adams Downard; children, Leslie (Dave) Bachman, Falmouth and Adam Ray Downard, Foster; sister, Joyce (Jerry) Douglas; two step-sisters; one step-brother; four sisters and brothers-in-law; grandchildren, Dakota and Colten Crouch; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the New Zion Baptist Church Building Fund.

Bernie Thompson Print E-mail

Bernie Thompson passed away in Bonita Springs, Fla., at his home.

He was born in Falmouth in 1922 where he helped his father farm until World War II; he was then drafted into the Army and shortly sent to Europe with the First Infantry Division and participated in six major invasions in Europe, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and Ardennes Forest and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery. Near the end of the war Bernie met his wife Marion and they married in Dorset England in 1945. His career included farming, working for Kroger as a truck driver and later in life working for Mid-State Theatres as an equipment manager and his final years were spent in the sunshine state of South West Florida with his two sons, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.

Preceding him in death, in addition to parents Raymond and Iona, of Falmouth, were wife of 56 years, Marian Joan; brothers, Wallace, James, Letcher, Melvin; and sister, Ruth.

Surviving are present wife, Peggy Thompson; sons, Allen and Dan; step-daughters, Debbie Lynn and Teri Ruth, Douglasville, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Teri; grandchildren, Terry Paul, Lindsey Marie, Sara Ashley and Olivia Megan; and great-grandchildren, Terry Allen and Caden William.

Graveside services and interment were held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.

 
Coletta Marie Cox Stahl, 94 Print E-mail

Coletta Marie Cox Stahl, 94, of Falmouth passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Spring Meade Health Center, Tipp City, Ohio.

She was born at the Cox family farm in Portland on May 11, 1920 to the late Arthur Samuel and Lora E. Greenwell Cox.

Preceding her in death, in addition to parents, were son, Samuel Gayle Stahl; daughter-in-law, Phoebe Mays Stahl; son-in-law Daniel W. Schneder; brother, Talton Cox; and sister, Anna Mae Cox.

Surviving are son, Denny (Jane) Stahl ; daughter, Karen Stahl Schneder; grandchildren, Jason Schneder, Justin S. Agee, Lisa S. Napier and Carol Delany; six great-grandchildren; and nephew, James "Jim" Cox.

Funeral services were held Thurday, May 29, 2014 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.

Interment took place at the Gardnersville Cemetery.
