Virginia E. Fields Bell, 92 Print E-mail

Virginia E. Fields Bell, 92, of Alexandria, formerly of Pendleton County, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the River Valley Nursing Home.

Surviving are daughter, Sandy (Joe) Bertram and grandson, Tim (Britney) Bertram.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m., to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2014 with funeral services immediately following at the Church of Christ, Alexandria. Arrangements are under the direction of the Peoples Funeral Home.

Interment will take place at the Alexandria Cemetery.

Adrian Keith Pugh, 86 Print E-mail

Adrian Keith Pugh, 86, of Falmouth passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana.

He was born in Harrison County on February 28, 1928 to the late Quincy Everett and Irene Traylor Pugh. On December 16, 1944, he married Gladys Price Pugh. A life long Pendleton County farmer, Adrian was an avid outdoorsman  who liked to hunt and fish. He received recognition in Kentucky and neighboring states for his training of bird dogs. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Church, Harrison County and he loved his wife and family dearly.

Preceding him in death, in addition to parents, was wife, Gladys Price Pugh.

Surviving are sons, Gary Wayne (Bonnie Sue) Pugh, Billy Darell (Andrea) Pugh and Keith (Nancy Jane) Pugh all of Falmouth; daughter, Wanda Faye (Melvin) Leach of Alexandria; brother, Fred Pugh of Crestview Hills; sisters, Carolyn Walthers of Falmouth, Betty Wolfe and Margie Brown both of Batavia Ohio; grandchildren, Christy Lynn (Jeff) Baumgartner, Darrin Wayne (Amy) Pugh, Jonathan Carroll (Lois) Pugh, Lori Renee Leach, Darell Glenn (Julie) Pugh, Dana (Kelly) Childers, Bradley Ross Pugh and Tara Gaye (Dallas) Brocker; 21 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 8, at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth with Bro. Bill Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Darrin Wayne Pugh, Jonathan Carroll Pugh, Darell Glenn Pugh, Bradly Ross Pugh, Brian Keith Pugh and Anthony Shane Pugh. Special music was shared by Michael and Tim Cummins and Jacob Feltner.

Interment took place at the Sunrise Cemetery, Harrison County.

Roger Utz, 59, of Williamstown passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014.

He was born in Covington on April 13, 1955 to the late Lester and Betty Hyatt Utz. Roger worked for Taylor Home Improvement and served in the United States Army.

Surviving are wife, Rose Jones Utz; daughters, Julie Epperson and Kay Harp; sisters, Rhonda Hutchison, Cathy Himmelmann and Missy Taylor; grandchildren, Ryan Harp, Jordan Shartzer, Patrick Shartzer and Mason Harp; great-grandson Talon Shartzer; nieces, Amber Hutchison Brewer, Morgan Taylor, Haylee Jo Taylor and Hannah Himmelmann; nephew, Dennis Hutchison; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Funeral services at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2014 also at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Jordan Shartzer, Ryan Harp, Patrick Shartzer, Mason Harp, Keith Taylor, Dave Himmelmann, Dennis Hutchison and Jamie Epperson. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Hutchison, Talon Shartzer and Randy Harp.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.

Keith Douglas "Flojoe" Sturgill, 47, of Berry passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at Harrison County Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Harlan, Ky., on January 9, 1967.

Preceding him in death was father, Grant Sturgill.

Surviving are mother, Grace Hall Sturgill; wife, Rita Sturgill; sons, Josh Sturgill and Anthony Caudill; daughters, Leesha Sturgill and Amber Caudill; brothers, Patrick Sturgill and James Tate; sister, Becky Wolfe; and grandchildren Taylor and Jacob Crouch.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 22 at Kincaid Lake.

Jacqueline "Jackie" McElfresh,74 Print E-mail

Jacqueline "Jackie" Mae McElfresh, 74, of Butler, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014.

She was born on December 7, 1939 to the  late Harrison "Tubby" and Juanita Craig Brennstuhl. Jackie was a retired supervisor for the IRS and a member of the Flour Creek Christian Church where she served as the choir youth director.

Surviving is husband, Lawrence McElfresh of Butler.

Interment took place at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Butler.

Peoples Funeral Home served the family.

Memorials are suggested to the Flour Creek Christian Church, 1109 Hwy 177, Butler Ky., 41006.

Military services held for Lenox Print E-mail

American Legion Post 109 and V.F.W. Post 1978 and D.A.V. Post members held full military services for Mr. Robert Woodrow Lenox at the Pythian Grove Cemetery on February 22, 2014.

Mr. Lenox served in the United States Army in World War II.

Eloise Rainey Joy, 86, of Stone Mountain, Ga., passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013.

Surviving are son, Keith (Barbara) Joy, of Hialeah Gardens, Fla.; daughter, Connie Joy (Duke) Jack, of Stone Mountain Ga.

Cremation was by Byars Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cumming, Ga.

Gary Arnold, 61, of Falmouth passed away Friday, February 28, 2014.

He was born in Covington, on December 13, 1952 to the late Floyd (Pete) Arnold and Roberta Ramsey Roberts. Gary was a member of the Demossville Baptist Church.

Surviving are sons, Aaron Caldwell and Kyle Arnold; brother Greg Arnold; one grandchild and one step grandchild; and two nieces and one nephew.

Visitation will take place from 12-2 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2014 with funeral services immediately following at the Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.

Denise Marie Harding, 48 Print E-mail

Denise Marie Harding, 48, of Falmouth passed away on February 18, 2014, at her residence.

She was born on May 21, 1965 to Dennis R. Harding Sr. and Eunice (Baker) Harding. Denise graduated from Dayton High School and worked as a support technician in the operating room for St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, she was also an ambassador for St. Elizabeth in Florence. She volunteered with many organizations within the hospital along with a Battered Women's Shelter and at Notre Dame, and she was greatly loved by everyone she met.

Surviving in addition to her parents are fiance, Shane Elliott of Falmouth; sister, Patsy Hensley of Dayton, Ky.; brothers, Dennis R. Harding Jr. of Nashville Tenn. and Greg Harding of Dayton, Ky.; and she was loved by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, one great nephew, friends and pets.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the Cooper Funeral Home.

Interment took place at the St. Stephens Cemetery.

Vicky Steffen, 51, of Foster passed away January 30, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Fort Thomas.

Surviving are husband, Dan Steffen; sons, Michael and Cody Schulkers and Tim Steffen; and daughters, Samantha and Jozi Steffen.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Cooper Funeral Home.
