Lena Marjorie Wells, 87 Print E-mail

Lena Marjorie Wells, 87, of Falmouth passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the River Valley Nursing Home, Butler.

She was born on February 12, 1927 in Pendleton County to the late John Boyd and Effie Blackburn Wagner. She was retired from the former Dr. Scholl's shoe factory in Falmouth and a member of the Blanket Creek Baptist Church and the last of ten brothers and sisters.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were husband, Charles Elva Wells; brothers, Lindsey Wagner, Robert Wagner, Melvin Wagner and James Wagner and sisters, Geneva Merrill, Ethel Green, Edna Chain, Jean Lach and Mary Yelton.

Surviving are son, Charles Donald (Shirley) Wells of Alexandria; daughter, Linda Joan (Regis) Nesbitt of Ft. Thomas; grandchildren, Lisa Atchley, Brandon Nesbitt, Rodney Wells and Mark Wells; great-grandchildren; Kaylin Wells, Kenton Wells, Jacob Fox and Emily Fox and brother in-laws and sister in-laws, George Lach, Anna Mary Tackett, Marjorie Adams and Gary Wells.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth with Bro. Joe Hall and Bro. Jamie Thornsberry officiating. Pallbearers for the service were Brandon Nesbitt, Jacob Fox, Marvin Sullivan, Bro. Bill Evans, John Merrill and Bennie Vanlandingham.

Interment took place in Riverside Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of River Valley Nursing Home for their excellent care.

Wilma Phillips, 69 Print E-mail

Wilma Phillips, 69, of Dry Ridge passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at her residence.

She was a native of Pendleton County  and daughter of the late Roy and Mabel Wolfe Jenkins. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and a loyal member of the Williamstown Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Super Seniors.

Surviving are husband of 32 years, Charlie Phillips; daughters, Teresa Coots of Dry Ridge, Tammy (Chris) Mann of Taylor Mill and Alisha (Jason) Jones of Dry Ridge; son, Dewey Phillips of Dry Ridge; sister Aleta Beach of Florence and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 7, 2014 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.

Interment took place at the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.

Lawrence Everett Adams, 88, of Cincinnati passed away March 27, 2014 at his home.

He attended Goforth School and graduated from Morgan High School and was a World War II veteran.

Surviving are wife of 43 years, Nadine Adams and children, Steve Adams, Dale Adams, Tony Raisor, Jeff Raisor, Barbara Davis, Jan Ornella, Lauren Faulkner, David Adams, Margo Borth and Betsy Tartar.

Celebration of his life was held Monday, March 31, 2014 at Mt. Washington Baptist Church.

Ernie Hillenmeyer Jr, 92 Print E-mail

Ernie Hillenmeyer Jr, 92, of Maysville passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are wife, Mary Hillenmeyer; daughters, Zoe H. (Joseph) Gillespie, Theresa H. (Dr. Michael) Mattei, Cecelia H. (Joseph) Denegre, Ellen Hillenmeyer (Mark Wesling) and Kathleen Hillenmeyer; daughter in-law, Beth Hoovler and son, Paul Hillenmeyer (Mary Woodhead).

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, April 7, 2014 at St. Patrick Church.

Committal rite took place at St. Patrick Cemetery.

Louis Johnson, 61 Print E-mail

Louis Johnson, 61, of Falmouth passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Harrison County Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Covington on September 7, 1952 to the late Jesse and Wilma Stahl Johnson. He was a veteran of the United States Marines, a member of the Falmouth Christian Church and for the last four years has worked in real estate.

Surviving are wife, Mary Lou Johnson of Falmouth; sons, Andrew Johnson of Falmouth and Matthew Johnson of Covington; step-daughters, Julie Moore of Falmouth and Bridgette (Scott) Schaffer of Alexandria; grandchildren, Jesse and Lillie Johnson and step-grandchildren, John, Sierra, Trinity, Madison and Harper.

Funeral services were held Friday March 28, 2014 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Also at the funeral home with full military honors by the Harden Browning Post 109.

Interment took place at Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.

Memorials are suggested to the Campbell County Game and Fish, 11218 S. Licking Pike, Alexandria.

James Brown Jr., 67, of Falmouth passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Harrison County Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are children, Jamie Brown, Jason Brown and Rose Lawson all of Falmouth.

A memorial service was held Friday, March 28, 2014  at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with Bro. Bill Evans officiating.

Savanna Faith Hamilton passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood.

Surviving are parents, Sarah Darlene Jenkins of Williamstown and Christopher Lee Hamilton of Dry Ridge.

Graveside services were held Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Peach Grove Cemetery, Butler. With arrangements held by Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.

James William Herald, 83, of Butler passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at his home.

He was a member of Christ Church Turners Creek in Breathitt County, as well as a retired teacher.

Preceding him in death were, in addition to his parents, Alex and Mary Herald; son, David J. Herald; and sisters, Marie Herald, Matilda Turner and Mima Turner.

Surviving are wife, Laura E. Herald; son, James W. Herald Jr.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Cooper Funeral Home, Alexandria.

Interment took place at Peach Grove Cemetery.

Sylvena Jones, 78, of Falmouth passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Grant Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Williamstown.

Surviving are daughters, Vickie (Jackie) Hopkins of Camden S.C., and Stephanie (Jerry) Miller of Corinth; six brothers; a sister; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, two precious  dogs, Snuggles and Kizzie and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Woodhead Funeral Home of Falmouth, with Bro. Darrell Breeden officiating.

Interment took place at Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.

Lenora Fern Frost, 78 Print E-mail

Lenora Fern Frost, 78, of Columbia, S.C., passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at her home.

She was born in Foster, Ky., to the late Lester and Armilda Bonar. She was a graduate of Butler High School, class of 1954 and moved to Columbia in 1980, where she and her husband owned and operated Overhead Door Co. of Columbia, until they retired in 2010. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, tending to flowers and watching sports on TV. Her love and comfort will be greatly missed.

Surviving are husband of 58 years, Lucian; sons, John of Columbia and Mark (Donna) of Winder, Ga.; sisters, Carolyn Moreland of Phenix City, Ala., and Sue (Larry) Hatfield of Butler; brother, Charles (Jane) Bonar of Butler;  and grandchildren, Heather, Megan and Jarod.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014 behind Cemetery Chapel Christian Church, 795 Lenoxburg Foster Road (State route 1019), Foster. Peoples Funeral Home is serving the family.
