It’s that time of year again! It’s Summer Reading at the Pendleton County Public Library, and sign-ups begin on Monday, June 23. You can sign up any time during the Summer Reading program. You can win prizes for reading during the summer!
“Fizz Boom Read” is this year’s theme for ages three through 5th grade. Programs will be held on at 11 a.m. on Thursdays and will usually last about an hour. Marie Augustine and the Garbage Can Band will be at the library on June 26 to play music from recycled things. Wump Mucket puppeteers will be coming on July 3 for a puppet show. The Living Arts & Science Center will present “Fizz Boom Science” on July 10 where they will do hands-on science experiments. Come clown around with Ronald McDonald on July 17. Coyote Chris from Silly Safari will be at the library on July 24 with animals for everyone to enjoy. The prize drawing will be at 12:15 p.m. that day.
Teen Summer Reading is for grades 6th through 12th. The theme is “Spark A Reaction.” Teen programs will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays. The first program will be on June 24. The Living Arts & Science Center will be at the library to do hands-on science experiments. Reed Masterson with Impossible Magic will be in attendance on July 1 to do some amazing magic. The teens will have to compete in a marshmallow challenge on July 8. Dave Myers will be stopping by on July 15 to have some science fun with the teens. The prize drawing will be held on July 1.
