|Ky. FFA Convention, June 10-12|
The 85th Annual Convention of the Kentucky Association Future Farmers of America will be held June 10-12 at the Lexington Center in Lexington, Ky. The Convention will begin on Tuesday, June 10, according to Brian Chism, President of the Association and Brandon Davis, State Advisor of the approximately 14,500 member student organization. Approximately 2,200 FFA members, advisors and guests are expected to attend this meeting.
Highlights of the Convention will include: past State Officer reunions, selection of the state winners in various speaking contests, Career Development Events, recognition of Agricultural Proficiency award state winners, and the naming of the organization’s State Stars in Agricultural Placement, Agribusiness and the State Star Farmer. Pendleton County FFA will have nineteen students competing in various competitions.
During the 9 a.m. closing session on Thursday, June 12, approximately 400 FFA members will receive the State FFA Degree, which is the highest honor the Association can award one of its members. The State Stars in Agricultural Placement, Agribusiness, and the State Star Farmer will be named. Brian Chism, State President, will address the closing session on at 9 a.m. Thursday.
The theme of the 2014 Convention is “Beyond All Limits.”
