She was born in Pendleton County on October 31, 1941 to the late Raymond and Rhoda Gosney Fields, was a secretary for French Bauer Ice Cream and Milk Co, Kroger Co., Pretrial Services of Kentucky, IRS, a clerk for several stores, a member of Concord Methodist Church and has enjoyed retirement for several years, country music shows and traveling. In the last years of her life she has fought a losing battle with diabetes, but always kept a happy attitude.
Surviving are husband, Carl Vernon Brown, who she married January 1, 1995; daughters, Deborah (Steve) Taylor, Falmouth, Angela (Steve) Frey, Moores Hill, Ind.; step-daughter, Beverly (Donnie) Buchanan, Falmouth; step-sons, Darryl (Marlene) Brown, Williamstown, Kevin (Brenda) Brown and Carlos (Theresa) Brown both of Vidor, Texas; grandchildren, Lynda (Thomas) Neltner, Melissa Taylor, Allison Helfrich, Michelle Frey, Donnie Ray Buchanan, Natasha Buchanan, Steve Brown, Bobbie Brown, Christopher Brown and Brandon Brown and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.
Interment took place at the Concord Cemetery, Falmouth.
Memorials, if desired, are suggested to Concord Methodist Church or Cemetery, Hwy 159, Falmouth.
