He was born on December 13, 1950 in Covington to Richard and Sarah Katherine McNees Chapman. Before his retirement, Dennis worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor in many Northern Kentucky schools for over 30 years. Mr. Chapman loved his church, his beloved Kentucky Wildcats and researching family history. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Kentucky and his Masters Degree in Public Administration from Kentucky State. As one of his many cousins wrote, “He kept us together as a family.”
Preceding him in death were father; sister, Joyce Chapman Hatfield; and brother, Allen Chapman in infancy.
Surviving are mother, Sarah Katherine McNees Chapman; wife of 13 years, Janet Enscoe Chapman; step-daughters, Denise (Craig) Humphrey, Louisville, Stephanie (Vlad) Rozanovich, Cincinnati; grandchildren, Parker, Nathan and Anna Claire Humphrey and Noah Rozanovich; nephews, Jamie (Lisa) Hatfield, Jeffrey (Annette) Hatfield; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, November 11, 2013, at the Madison Avenue Christian Church, with Rev. Chinna Simon officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Gary Barlow, Doug Ashcraft, Philip Ashcraft, David Dunaway, Craig Humphrey, Vlad Rozanovich, Jeff Hatfield and Jamie Hatfield.
Interment took place at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Pendleton County.
Memorials are suggested to the Madison Avenue Christian Church.
