|Proposed Bluegrass Pipeline causing grave concerns among citizens|
The possibility of the Bluegrass Pipeline being run through Pendleton County has caused a great deal of concern for county leaders and citizens. As has been explained often of late the proposed pipeline would be for the purpose of carrying natural gas liquids (NGLs) from gas drilling operations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia to Louisiana for processing and/or export. NGLs is a mixture of hydrocarbons that remain after methane has been extracted for use as fuel. There is a primary concern relative to public health and safety due to the flammable nature of the gases in NGLs.
