Mike Fisher, 65 Print E-mail

Mike Fisher, 65, of Falmouth passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Veterans Medical Center in Cincinnati after a brief battle with ALS "Lou Gehrig's Disease."

He was born on May 14, 1948 in Covington to the late C.W. and Mary Lou Brann Fisher. Upon graduation from Falmouth High School, Mike entered the U.S. Marine Corps serving in Vietnam. After returning to Falmouth, he joined his father and Uncle Keith Fisher at Fisher Chevrolet, the family car dealership that was started by his grandfather, J.A. Fisher.

Mike always had a passion for the automobile business and in more recent years was the manager of the Circle K store in Alexandria until his retirement in May 2013. He was very active in Jaycees on the local, state and national level, serving as state president in 1980 and as national vice president in 1981. In the late 1970s and early 1980s he served on the Falmouth City Council and was a member of the American Legion Hardin Browning Post 109, the Masonic Lodge and Falmouth Christian Church.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents, were his grandparents J.A. and Rosamond Fisher and Howard and Edna Brann.

Surviving are son, Nick (Jamie) Fisher, Bellevue; daughter, Emily Fisher (Greg) Greene, Taylor Mill; brother, John (Becky) Fisher, Florence; sister, Elizabeth Fisher Chapman, Alexandria; and grandchildren, Jack, Sam and Eva Greene.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 23 at the Peoples Funeral Home in Butler with Dr. J. C. Henderson officiating. Special music was provided by Adarin Williams. Serving as pall bearers were Mark Browning, Steve Craig, Pat Conroy, Danny Wright, Kevan Wolfe, Jim Bowling and honorary pallbearer was Harry Alford.

Interment took place at the Kentucky Veterans North Cemetery in Williamstown.
