Something is fishy at Lake Williamstown

By Jamie Baker-Nantz, The Grant County News

A new resident will soon be calling Lake Williamstown home.

The Williamstown City Council entered into an agreement with Big Fish Farms of Fort Thomas to stock the lake with paddlefish, which are harvested for their meat and eggs.

Paddlefish, which are easy to identify because of their long snout and large mouth, are stocked at low density when they are about 12 inches in size. The stocking takes place in late summer or early fall. They eat zooplankton and do not reproduce in a pond or lake environment.
