BBB tips for buying door-to-door sales

Summertime brings out sales people who knock on your door offering alarm systems, magazines, and more. While some of these salespersons are legitimate, others are dishonest in their sales techniques.

For instance, local consumers are calling the BBB complaining about an out-of-state alarm company showing up at their homes selling items, using high-pressure sales tactics. Some examples of high pressure sales tactics include hostile and persuasive rebuttals to consumer concerns, deep discounts offered upon immediate payment, and refusal to take “no” for an answer.
