Relay for Life thankful for local business' help Print E-mail

Relay for Life in Pendleton County has been very fortunate to have businesses sell moons and stars for several years to help raise money for the fight against cancer.  This year we had one business to raise $1000 for Relay by selling those moons and stars! Wyatt’s Super Valu’s cashiers decided to set a goal for themselves to raise $1,000 in memory of former fellow employee, Phyllis Wolfe, who recently lost her battle with cancer.  They worked very hard and sold 918 moons and stars at $1 each in just three weeks. Because of their diligence Wyatt’s owner, Dixie Owen donated the remaining amount to raise the $1000. Relay for Life appreciates all that Wyatt’s employees and Mrs. Owen did and all the customers that participated in buying the moons and stars. Let’s all continue to fight the fight against cancer one dollar at a time.
