By Monica Yeamans, PC Extension Homemakers Council Reporter

Entry day for the annual Pendleton County 4-H Youth Fair will be July 1. The fair will run July 2 - 6 from 5 to 10 p.m. each night. Be sure to stop by the Pendleton County Extension Homemakers Funnel Cake booth for some of the best funnel cakes in the state and visit the many exhibits by local 4-H members, homemakers and others in Floral Hall.

All cultural arts entries will need to be brought to Floral Hall on Monday, July 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public is invited and encouraged to enter items under the “Open Class” categories. Watch the paper for Fair booklet with rules, regulations and other information. Premiums are paid for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category.

The theme of this year’s photo contest is "Stone Fences." Take a photo of a stone fence or remains of a stone fence in Pendleton County. Photos must be a 5x7 photo, mounted on an 8x10 mounting board. The winning photo will receive a picture frame and $25 sponsored by the Pendleton County Extension Homemakers. Entries will be accepted on Monday, July 1 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Floral Hall at the Pendleton County Fairgrounds.

The Pendleton County Extension Homemakers will be sponsoring a new event this year: a "Cake Auction" scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 at Floral Hall. Come one, come all and have some fun! Come out and support a great cause by bidding on a cake for your Fourth of July celebration.

You’re going to love our cakes!

You’re going to want to bid on your favorite!

Get yours before they are gone!

Blackberry Jam cake, Red Velvet cake, Carrot cake and many more!

Proceeds for the auction will support the Pendleton County Extension Homemakers scholarship fund for PCHS students and the Northern and Southern Family Resource Centers.
