|Ky FFA Convention ~ June 11 - 13|
The 84th Annual Convention of the Kentucky Association FFA will be held in Lexington, Kentucky on June 11-13 at the Lexington Center. The Convention will begin on Tuesday, June 11, according to Ali Higgs, president of the association and Brandon Davis, state advisor of the approximately 14,100 member student organization. Approximately 2,200 FFA members, advisors and guests are expected to attend this meeting.
Highlights of the Convention will include: past state officer reunions, selection of the state winners in various speaking contests, Career Development Events, recognition of Agricultural Proficiency award state winners, and the naming of the organization’s State Stars in Agricultural Placement, Agribusiness and the State Star Farmer.
National FFA Eastern Region Vice President Joenelle Futrell, will address the 7:30 p.m. Tuesday session. Justin Davis, vice president, Kentucky Association FFA, will address the convention on Tuesday afternoon, June 11, at the 3:30 p.m. Opening session. During the 9 a.m. closing session on Thursday, June 13, approximately 400 FFA members will receive the State FFA Degree, which is the highest honor the association can award one of its members. The State Stars in Agricultural Placement, Agribusiness, and the State Star Farmer will be named. Ali Higgs, state president, will address the closing session on Thursday, at 9 a.m.
