Need extra cash? Officiate sports! Print E-mail

As the high school sport seasons are completed over the next few weeks, the schools are gearing up for the 2013-14 season. While the public sees the teams traveling to camps and holding off-season activities, one area that is overlooked is that officiating is in their recruitment and training season.

All the officiating organizations from football to soccer to volleyball to basketball to track to baseball to fast pitch are actively seeking new officials.

You can pay your way through college, knock out that pesky bill, or just pick up some extra cash by spending some evenings or weekends helping out high school sports by officiating.

Contact Keith Smith, Pendleton County athletic director for more information or check out and click on link about becoming an official.

The pay is good, you’re helping out the schools and the communities and staying close to a sport you love.
