Nation's best cheerleaders perform at PC Cheer Cup

The NCAA I-A National Champions University of Kentucky Cheerleading amazed the crowd at the Cheer Cup at Pendleton County High School with stunts and throws flirting with the ceiling girders.  The gym was overflowing with 18 squads performing their routines including exhibitions from collegiate squads UK, Morehead State and NKU and the PCHS CheerCats.

While the excitement and spirit was high for the 18 teams performing and competing at the 2nd PC Cheer Cup, the excitement about blew the roof off the PCHS gym when perennial national champions Morehead State and University of Kentucky squads as well as new NCAA DI squad, NKU, took to the mat at the Cheer Cup at PCHS on Saturday.

"To think of all the time, work and dedication these athletes put in to become National Champions in 2 1/2 minutes is mind boggling. Actually seeing them in our home gymnasium was inspiring to our girls and something our community will never forget."  Cheer Cup coordinators Cheri Griffin and Darlene Wright pointed out about the level of performance that was on display.
