|Wildcats lose Districts, play Scott in Regionals|
The Pendleton County Wildcats varsity soccer team was defeated by the Harrison County Thoroughbreds in the 38th District Boys Soccer Championship by a score of 2-1. Both teams will advance to regional play which starts tonight in Harrison County.

So close. It's cruel how something you work hard for over a long period of time can be lost within a matter of seconds. Just like that.
So was the case last Thursday night in the final seconds of the 38th District championship, yet another classic being played between Pendleton County and border rival Harrison County. Both teams competing at the highest level, with neither deserving to lose. But someone had to lose. Then it happened. With the score knotted at a goal apiece, and the clock winding down, Harrison County converted a game-winning shot from well beyond 40 yards out; the ball ricochetting off the crossbar and going into the net.
