Ellis Gentry, 88, of Berry, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Lee County, on February 10, 1924, to the late Oscar and Viola Morgan Gentry. He was a member of the Church of God, a retired employee of L.E. Burgen Blacktop Co., and a U.S. Army WW II Veteran.
Preceding him in death were wife, Wanda Evans Gentry, on August 12, 2006; son, Leonard Gentry; daughter, Diane Gentry; grandson, Billy Edward Gentry; four brothers; and five sisters.
Surviving are sons, Charles and Darrell Gentry, both of Beattyville, Dale, Mark, Mike and Glen Gentry all of Berry; daughters, Darlene Moore and Maggie Gentry, both of Berry and Teresa Beach, Paris; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a special dog Poo-Poo.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth, with Keith Mitchell officiating.
Interment with full military honors by the Hardin- Browning Post #109 will take place in the Morgan Cemetery, Pendleton County.
Memorials are suggested to the Boyd United Methodist Church, Hospice of the Bluegrass or the charity of choice.
