Pendleton County Ladycats trying to end a losing streak

By: Rachel Turner, Reporter

The Ladycats traveled to bowling green to compete in the Purples Classic Tournament on Friday, August 29. The first match was played later that day against Ballard County. The Ladycats would lose in a score of 1-4. The lone goal was scored by Senior, Tori Fitzpatrick with an assist from Junior, Katelyn Meadows.

The next two matches would be played the following day, Saturday, September 1. The first game was against bowling green. The Ladycats would take another loss in a score of 0-7. The Ladycats keeper Junior, Katie Gaskins saved over 40 shots taken. The second game was played against Bethlehem. The Ladycats would continue their losing streak with a score of 0-6.

Over the weekend the Ladycats were short players, due to sickness and injury, and had to rotate into different positions. They tried to adjust but couldn’t pull it together.  The effort was there but they had to play more defensively against the quicker teams and were unable to transition to offense.
