Yueltia "Babe" Sponcil, 84 Print E-mail

Yueltia Fern “Babe” Barton Sponcil, 84, of DeMossville, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Health Care in Edgewood.

She was born on September 3, 1927 in Pendleton County, to the late Charles and Eva Mullins Barton. She married Billie Sponcil, November 9, 1946 and her dear husband of 44 years preceded her in death on March 19, 1991.  She was a Butler High School graduate, a well-known homemaker and farmer, a member of the Unity Baptist Church, Pendleton County, and a member of the Young at Heart Group at Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husband, were  sisters, Edna Bowen, Edith Eddy, and Mable Gilbert and brother, James Herbert Barton.

Surviving are children, Jerry (Janice) Sponcil, Crittenden,  Wayne (Carol) Sponcil, Dry Ridge, Freida Sponcil Turner, Butler, Trena Sponcil (Ed) Ackerman, Melbourne; grandchildren, Tona Sponcil (Todd) Smith, David Sponcil, Tisha Sponcil (Travis) Woodyard, Kyle Turner, Kelsey Turner, Cameron Turner, Brooke Ackerman, Keith Ackerman; special friends, Mike and Gretta Kidwell; and a host of extended family and friends, all of whom will miss her.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with Bro. Bobby Barnes  officiating.

Interment took place in the Gardnersville Cemetery, Pendleton County.
