A Pendleton County civil war veteran (Edward Lee Harper, 1846-1935) received a military monument in the spring of 2012.

There will be a civil war memorial service and monument dedication at 3 p.m., Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Old LLL Hwy Pendleton County.
