He was born on November 13, 1934 in Pendleton County, to the late Everett Levi and Frances Gillespie Bishop. On June 20, 1953 he married Audrey Jean Lonaker and she survives his passing. He was a retired truck driver for Spade Pipeline, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the Local Teamsters Union #159, and past commander of the American Legion in Williamstown and Falmouth.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents are son, Earl Wayne Bishop; brother, Ray Allen Bishop; and a granddaughter, Katie Shell.
Surviving are in addition to his wife, Audrey; daughters, Carol (Tommy) McElfresh, Falmouth, Susan (Jerry) Bailey, Dry Ridge, Robin Jenkins, Falmouth, Lisa Shell, Falmouth; son, Rick (Melissa) Bishop, Williamstown; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012 with funeral service immediately following at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth.
Interment with full military honors by Hardin-Browning Post #109 will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be Rick Bishop, Ricky McElfresh, Chad Bishop, Tommy McElfresh, Jerry Bailey and Michael Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Clements, Jeffrey Kinman, Casey Jenkins, David Haley, Roy Osbourne, and Clint Bishop.
