Billy Dean Brashear, 76, of Butler passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Veterans Hospital in Cincinnati.
Born in Colson, Ky. on March 19, 1936, he was a member of the Alexandria Church of God, former coal miner, finish carpenter and was a member of the United States Army and a Kentucky Colonel. Since 2004 Bill has battled cancer of the prostate, lung, larynx, tongue and leukemia.
Preceding him in death were parents, Ray Brashear and Dessie Neice Brashear Whitaker.
Surviving are wife, Kathryn Slone Brashear, Butler; sons, Seth (Ivy Brock) Brashear, Southgate, James (Vonda) Brashear, Alexandria; daughter, Deanna (Larry) Nelly, Florence; four brothers; four sisters; grandsons, Cainan Nelly and Dakota and Elijah Brashear; granddaughters, Rebecca Brashear, Jamie Page, Mariah Brossart, Madison, Morgan, Lawren and Megan Nelly; three great-grandchildren; and special great-nieces, Briegh and Kellie Soto.
Funeral services were held April 30, 2012 at the Alexandria Church of God under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.
Interment took place at Alexandria Cemetery, Alexandria.
